Tusk v0.8.0 Release Notes

This release brings a built-in folder browser to make setting up backups easier, along with a cleaner, more consistent experience throughout the app. Several rough edges around progress tracking, notifications, and offline drives have also been smoothed out.

• In-app folder browser — Browse and select backup folders without leaving Tusk, using a new Finder-style folder picker built right into the app.

• Progress bar for all job states — Verification and queued backup jobs now show a progress bar, so you always have a clear picture of what Tusk is doing.

🐛 Fixes

• Offline destinations — The progress card no longer appears when your backup drives are disconnected, avoiding confusing or stuck UI states.

• Growing files handled gracefully — Files that are still being written are now deferred rather than backed up mid-write. Orphaned jobs are cleaned up automatically, and progress indicators stay accurate.

• Drive disconnect notifications — If a drive is disconnected, you'll now see a single notification per drive instead of a repeated stream of alerts.

🔧 Improvements

• Consistent language throughout — All references to moving footage into Tusk now use the term Offload for clarity and consistency.
